Galletto 4 v54 won’t start after installation on Windows XP(Solved)

Something you need to pay attention to if you fail to run Fgtech Galletto 4 v54 for use after installation.
do a fresh install of windows XP

remove the old fgtech from system totally
That is, you need to remove all previous installs system files of fg

check your fgtech drive, check if all is well, there's driver for 32bit and 64bit. (if you uninstall all previous versions). Use the USB fix that comes on the cd. 
If Fgtech v54 not open in OBD2, re
-install again without deinstalar the v54. and try to open the Obd2 again. 

check ftd2xx.dll file. If this file was read only and you have to change this unmarking read only in location - widows/system32/ftd2xx.dll.

Now is working !!!!!!!!

Galletto v54 in xp....run install, plug in usb........point device driver to 'new driver' that you just installed in FG folder. re run install. Should work.
Description not 100% precise....but it Worked for me.

I installed this program on three different computers with xp sp3 and one all goes well, the other needs to be reinstalled every time you want other functions and unresponsive executable not understand these discrepancies.

Why FGtech China clone not fgtech euro clone?

I have FGtech Galletto China clone and also fgtech euro clone, some ECU tunners tend to consider fgtech euro clone is high quality and work fine, but China clone need luck. Personally I don’t agree, it’s something of prejudice, to me the FGtech Galletto China clone can work flawlessly, it can do what I paid. 

Test reports speak louder than words, I’d like to share their own PCB and my test report in the following parts, hope it helps.

Part 1: Fgtech Galletto china Clone PCB & test report
To some users they think highly of fgtech euro clone because fgtech euro clone is gold immersions and they like its component position.

To me and some of others like me, I think color of relays is the most important in this case, but I think some of users didn’t saw good quality chinagalletto. gtech Galletto china clone is no gold immersions but PCB and soldering quality is really very good, Fgtech galletto china clone have the same component of EU clone.
Also I have 2 galletto. One with yellow relays and second one with black. Both of them works very good.
I test FGtech galletto V54 on Audi 2009, Tiguan 2009, Passat 2009 and Golf 6 2009. It supports not all ecus edc17, Sure edc17cp04 and edc17cp14 year 2009 can read-write in obd. But edc17cp20, edc17cp44,etc, etc same year, have tricore protected active, and if you write in obd, ecu bloqued. I think TProt on VAG are present from 05/2009 but is very random this option is most present on engine with low power and is not compeer to years or ecu type.The best way to know if tp is active is always bootmode and read tag on file.

Here fgtech Galletto Euro clone PCB is Gold immersion and I like the component position

I could change a lot of parts but will not be the same.
This is my fg v53 test, when I rebuild HW I don’t change U11-U15 because seller did not have them...now is changed
after SW upgrade I used it on many situation : k line (obd), can(obd), boot tricore on each ecu med17, mev17, mevd17, edc17c-cp-cv, boot st,bdm, jtag...always perfect without error.

Fgtech China clone price less than $100 and works great, it is worth the money.
Fgtech China clone price almost $1000 with gold immersion PCB and allows user to rebuild, and works great .

Blindly deny Fgtech China clone is something kind of pride & price. Choose the one which meet your needs and budget is the most important.

How Fgtech Galletto 4 read EDC16c34 via OBD?
Step1. Connect Fgtech Galletto 4 V54 Master directly to car OBD port then connect it to laptop via USB cable. (When read ECU you don't need 12v external power supply)
Turn on the key to position 1 but don't start engine.
Step2. Open Fgtech V54 software, first click “Select Driver” to choose correct driver for your car / ECU.
Next check “ECU Data” to see if connection is OK.
Step3. Click “Read file”, enter name of the file, and reading start.

Wait until reading is 100% complete. Turn the dashboard off.
How FgtechGalletto 4 write EDC16c34 via OBD?
1.     Make sure your car battery is ok. You must have over 12v steady volts to write. You can connect your car battery to external 12v charger.
2.     You can damage your ECU if voltage drops under 12v. If writing process is disrupted you can recover your ECU only by BDM restore.
Click “Write file” to start ECU writing.
When the writing complete, turn off the dashboard and wait 3 minutes.
Then turn on dashboard and wait 3 minutes. After that you can turn on the engine.

100% working solution:
The car is running
What I did as follows:
-> I remove fuses from Dash and Radio\Navi
-> use a good bosch powersupply (14V)
-> delet all fault code VCDS
-> write the same file was read before with Fgtech Galletto
-> note all prompts from galletto about ingnition on/off
-> car start....running
-> delet all fault code VCDS

Which EDC17 Reader works well for a good price?
BDM100, FGTECH 54, MPPS v16, kess v2.06 or any other tools/ solution is optional? 
Let’s hear from some experienced ECU tunners.
  • For EDC16 iam using BDM100 from china.
  • I USE FGTECH 54 AND IS OK. no problem.
  • I read one EDC17 in Audi A4 with MPPS v16.
  • Another EDC17 I read in boot mode with galletto v54 good china clone... Do job perfectly.
When you have problem, just try this way: uninstall all fgtech software. Install basic version. Connect tool and give drivers. Unplug tool. Remove basic. Install Win7 version. Plug tool + drivers. Done.
  • I use the kess v2.06 reworked pcb and fw updated, like 08 what is available...is great tool, recently KESS FM V4.036 available, haven’t test it, but I think it will do. As told by eobd2.fr customer service, the older fw kess v2 is available to update firmware by returning back the main unit to them and charge $89, but the QC number has to be ended with 015.
  • I use byteshooter does most ecus obd2, inclusively edc17 first models until 2009, first generation. For late edc17 byteshooter reads very good on table, only resistor adding is needed. If you want good tool go Byteshoter. Never had issues with it. Galetto v54 reworked pcb works good too.
  • CMD CAN Flasher dont can read write all edc17 by obd, only a few.
